How to Decorate a Goldfish Tank?

When setting up your fish tank you may want to decorate it to make it more attractive or to complement your home decor. However, decorating a colorful fish tank is not really necessary because the beautiful color of goldfish will beautifully adorn themselves.

Instructions
1 Keep your fish tank simple decorations for easy maintenance. Goldfish needs a lot of space to swim safely so as not to fill the tank with too much decoration.

2 Limit small flat rocks in your fish tank. Goldfish will sift through the gravel throughout the day and do not want the consumption of small pieces of gravel or the reduction of their mouths on sharp stones. Large fish tank ornaments should be avoided in the fish tank as the one that could get trapped between the rock and the side of the tank or injure itself when swimming by scraping on a rock.

3 Place live plants in the fish tank only if you are ready to replace them on a regular basis. Goldfish love to much of the aquarium plants and often eat a new plant in a few days. Plastic plants are a good idea for a more permanent tank decoration.

4 Avoid any tank decorations with holes that are too small for colorful fish to swim through without touching the decor. Scraping themselves in decorations when trying to swim through holes that are too small can cause skin irritation and injury.

5 Use an adjustable aquarium heater if the ambient temperature in which the fish tank is located is less than 74 degrees. Goldfish are the healthiest and happiest at temperatures of 74 degrees Fahrenheit or more.
