Basic training: How to Train a Dog

Dogs are classified by most people as "man's best friend"; are faithful, sociable and very affectionate animals that adapt to any environment. As pets they are, it is fairly easy to train. Some experts argue that training dogs are easier to train as puppies, after 6 to 7 weeks old; however, others say it can be trained much smaller. Doing it in this age prevents the pet with puppy harness vest has learned habits difficult to remove.

It is necessary to show the pet that is the leader constantly through basic training, so that the dog owner must respect and follow their instructions. The first thing to teach a puppy is to recognize your name and some basic instructions, like the automatic dog leash, such as: sit, and come, etc., plus the word NO is necessary when your dog doing something wrong. One of the first activities taught the puppies is to relieve themselves in an appropriate place, the courtyard or a newspaper, etc.

The best way to train a puppy is using the behavior modification technique called punishment and reward. However, it is usually best to reward their good deeds, rather than scold and punish. The first few times you can wait until the dog eat, and start circling a little anxious to make their needs; at that time is a good idea to teach where to do it, and reward when done.

Some people resort to scolding and punishment to train their animals when the dog do his business in the wrong place, use a rolled up newspaper to give the floor, and the thunderous sound frighten the animal. Although not the best way to carry out the training, sometimes it can be quite effective. All training may take some time, depending on the nature of the animal, but in the end it pays to have an obedient and trained dog. The best advice is to be patient and constant.
